Think you know your area? City Hunt was Ugly Duck’s mass-participation treasure hunt that submerged players in culture, history and heritage. We worked with local authorities, festival organisers, historians and heritage groups to find out unusual facts and stories about the area. These were then built into a game, available both online via our custom-built website, and as a live experience brought to life by artists and actors.
Ugly Duck organised 3 City Hunt games between 2014 and 2016. The first City Hunt was produced in partnership with Southwark Council as part of their Blackfriars Stories programme of cultural events aimed at celebrating the history, future and local communities around Blackfriars. The project then went on to Bermondsey and finally Elephant and Castle.
City Hunt is still available to play online, in teams or on your own. It’s suitable for all ages and abilities. Whether you’re new to an area or you’re an old local, you’re bound to discover some fantastic hidden places and quirky stories.
We are still able to produce City Hunts so if you would like to speak about commissioning a game or partnering on a project that uses City Hunt then get in touch.
