Founded January 2018, Silenced Museum is a direct action theatre group whose aim is to inspire intervention to tackle the roots of everyday human violences.
We strive to welcome broad audiences – allies and the disunited alike – through accessible content, which educates and raises awareness around the importance of social action thereby creating long term community rooted change.
Our current project – the Intervention Collection – focuses on ending sexual harassment through a mix of direct action, performance, academic and curatorial practices. The project will gather together artists, activists and performers in a series of immersive exhibitions, set in a future world where sexual harassment no longer exists. We hope that by by utilising these varied voices, participants will leave equipped to transform their own communities through bystander intervention.
