SUMMARY:Lunarrr Playgroundz
DESCRIPTION:Lunarrr Playgroundz\nWORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:\nLunarrr Playgroundz is an experimental open coven that tries to offer safe(r) spaces of spiritual inquiry\, transformation and healing for the queer community and its wonderful allies.\n\nThe project unfolds through ritual-workshops in accordance with the phases of the moon. It is held by the main facilitator b y u k a (they/ them)\, as well as by invited guest queer magic practitioners. Some of the themes we explore are:\n\nWays of queering and embodying the tarot\nElemental magic\nQueer ancestor altars\nRebirth rituals\nShapeshifting techniques &\nHow to create relationships to non-human familiars\nFrameworks for moon worship\nWays of befriending grief\nBlood magic\nAstrology\nTranspersonal Psychology\nChaos Magick\nAlchemy\n\nThe project unfolds through the lens of moon magic- an ancestral and animist ritual technology. This framework can help us reclaim our embodied cyclical rhythm of living\, and guide us into how to honour both our phases of growth and celebration\, as well as our grief\, rest and reflection. Like the moon\, we wax and wane.\n\nInstead of the linear\, productivity-driven timelines of patriarchal capitalism\, we devote ourselves to the creative flow woven by the magnificent planetary dance between the moon and the earth – which directs the seasonal changes\, the movement of tides and our planet’s axis. As we are mammals who are birthed\, fed and held between the cosmic and the earthly landscapes – we are made and unmade by these rhythms. Like the moon\, we wax and wane.\n\nEmpowering our lunar bodies can help us rebel against the industrial\, machine-like clock that dominates our lives and our relationship to the ecosystems. Our lunar bodies can dream into being futurities that bloom with collective care\, care that heals us from the violent spells of hierarchy\, binaries and normativity. Futurities that are guided by myths & stories full of playfulness\, solidarity\, rest. Full of camp hybrids\, sacred disruptors\, wise fools. Full of recycled altars\, ceremonial raves and sensuous technologies.\n\nThe project also asks the question- what is queer magic?\n\nLunarrr Playgroundz – both as a magical praxis & as an embodied mythology that is being collectively written- is inherently queer. Strange\, fluid\, playful. The moon is a shapeshifter.\n\nThe moon transitions all the time- from one phase to the other\, showing us its many faces\, energies and qualities via an intricate dance of reflected sunlight\, darkness\, vulnerability and power. It’s a performative ceremony of many genders\, many kinds of prayers\, many pains and many sensualities – gifted to an entire galaxy.\n\nLunar magic framework\n( to be taken as a poetic invitation and not as a recipe! 🙂\n\nWaning Moon\nAs our lunar satellite veils itself into cosy shadows- darkness slowly becomes an intimate cocoon of focus\, reassessment and rest. For half of the cycle- we can witness the tender beauty of the moon’s disappearance. Each night they sacrifice more and more of their shining skins\, teaching us about the sacred necessity of retrieval.\n\nWhat is no longer serving our needs? What layers of being are shedding and need ceremonial acknowledgement? How can we make friends with our shadows? With the sides of ourselves that we have outcasted? That we are terrified or ashamed of? Our exhaustion\, our anger\, our strangeness?\n\nThe waning moon invites us to connect deeper to our grief – so that we know more clearly what we need to let go of in order to respect our own becoming.\n\nWe acknowledge that the seeds of renewal are buried in the universe’s magical acts of disappearance. Of loss. Of letting go. Of sacrifice. Our futurities lay in the soil’s dark womb\, as we learn how to surrender in the dance of death and rebirth- breathing in and breathing out. As we give birth to ourselves into new shapes of joy\, we leave parts of us as offerings to the land\, to rot and home themselves into the mycelial networks. The past versions of ourselves become compost for our new desires and dreams to flourish.\n\nNew Moon\nThe sun and the moon are completely aligned. There is no light emanating towards us. The world is at a stillpoint. We hide\, cocoon ourselves like a dark moon\, we root ourselves into the unseen\, back to the forces of creative mystery that weave our livelihoods together. Back into the nest of dreams our queer and blood ancestors built. We pause with them so that their blessings and pains can inform our future journeys. Through this darkness we remember the wombic warmth from which life is born\, the darkness of deep soil as it homes a seed\, the point 0 from which all beginnings take place. Through this process we become intimate with our desires and offer them space\, as we water them with our powers and plan for the next lunar cycle.\n\nWaxing Moon\nLike the moon\, we shapeshift\, transition and baptise new desires and needs into expression.\nAs the light of the moon starts growing\, we reflect on our own relationship to growth and empowerment: the fears\, excitement\, hardship and tenderness that show up in the process. The waxing moon invites us to follow the momentum\, recalibrate\, expand. How does it feel to take space? To gather? To build? What is our support system while we do so? What offerings of time\, space\, kindness and patience does this birth need?\nWhat is commitment? What is devotion?\n\nFull Moon\nReaching the full moon – it’s high time we celebrate and bathe in the acceptance and gratitude of what we birthed into expression until now. We can bring offerings to our allies who supported our journeys – humans\, plants\, land\, planets and spirits.\nWho is your family? By blood\, by choice\, by devotion? How does your thank you look like? How much of you and your time you pour into learning how to celebrate them and the life around you?\nThe full moon also allows us to sense where we are in our relationship to power and expression: are we fully allowing ourselves to shine? To be seen? To manifest? With ourselves in our full splendour? With our delicious mistakes\, with our awkward joy\, with our ecstasy? Our needs and longings? The full moon is also a time for fun. Pleasure for pleasure’s sake. Ritual raves\, healing spells\nof laughter and uncensored howls.\n\nFor who\nLunarrr Playgroundz is a container of queer magic for the queer community and its allies.\nAll workshops will play with movement\, breathwork\, voice and writing in different measures\, depending on the theme and facilitator- but you will always be in charge of how you wish to interact with our suggestions and guidance\, as well as the intensity and rhythm which feels pleasureful and needed to you on the day.\nThere are no prerequisites for the rituals. Any levels of movement or magical practice are\nwelcomed: from curious creatures to baby witches & to geeky magicians who speak crow language! (if you do\, please message for a skill swap 🙂\n\nUnfortunately the space is not accessible by wheelchair.\nFor any questions feel free to email: @byuka.krow@gmail.com

SUMMARY:@DISTURBANCE
DESCRIPTION:watch the replay \n  \nUgly Duck Bermondsey is excited to announce the return of @Disturbance this November. A flagship programme championing LGBTQIA+ performance\, video and digital artists\, @Disturbance hosts a week-long residency culminating in two nights of public performances on November 10 & 12. A simultaneous high-quality livestream enables those outside London and unable to travel to experience @Disturbance in full effect. It is key for Ugly Duck to encourage accessibility and support radical\, diverse\, queer artists. @Disturbance is set to be as brave and breathtaking as previous programmes\, all of which have sold out and featured artists from all over the world.  \nCreative Director of Ugly Duck and founder of @Disturbance Deen Atger says: “At @Disturbance we find and nurture the talents of tomorrow. Bold and forward-thinking artists deconstructing boundaries and paving the way for totally new aesthetics. Each year @Disturbance gets bigger and we’re excited to welcome new artists into our growing network”.  \nUgly Duck is currently celebrating a decade of revitalising underused buildings and supporting marginalised artists. Established in October 2012\, the organisation has transformed a spacious\, empty Victorian warehouse in SE1 into a thriving\, creative hub. Over 1500 significant artists and arts collectives have collaborated with Ugly Duck over the past 10 years.  \nAbout @Disturbance 2022 artists:  \nGisou Golshani is a London-based Iranian artist. Their work depicts abstract narratives from seemingly disparate elements. Through multilayered editing and playful uses of sampling\, they investigate the intimacy of the voice\, the effects of sound on the body and their mother tongue Farsi’s complexities in translation. Looking into archival found material\, Gisou will create a multi-sensory\, immersive installation and performance at @Disturbance. Previous work has been shown at Nottingham’s New Art Exchange\, Mimosa House\, London and internationally including their home country.  \nJoy Yaa Kincaid is a London-based multidisciplinary artist. Intersectionality is a focus of their work which at @Disturbance will encompass both performance and video art. Centered on presenting worldly and political truths of contradiction\, randomness and beautiful messiness\, they view themselves as a mirror reflecting multiplicities of gender and culture in addition to the many absurdities of whiteness. Joy is an exciting new talent who @Disturbance hope will soon be on the cultural radar of both arts organisations and audiences.  \nRiver Cao is a moving image and performance artist originally from China now London based. Their intriguing work is created from the act of mourning\, with an emphasis on the return of the revenants. In folklore\, a revenant is an animated corpse believed to have been revived from death to haunt the living. Revisiting their marginalised queer experience of growing up in the small town landscape of southern China\, they will create a series of self-narrative spaces at @Disturbance\, to rethink the emotions of grief. River has previously presented work at the Saatchi Gallery\, ICA London\, Beijing’s Joy Museum and Cologne’s Museum Ludvic.   \nKhairullah Rahim is an interdisciplinary artist based in Singapore. He works across installation\, painting\, photography and moving image. For @Disturbance\, Khairullah presents the UK debut of their short art film Buah Dahsyat (Fantastic Fruits). His research looks into strategies of resourcefulness for survival in environments under surveillance. Khairullah’s works have been shown extensively all over the world. The Barbican in London\, Millepiani in Rome and the Tiger Strikes Asteroid New York location have all played host alongside many other international arts spaces ad galleries.   \nNoam Youngrak Son is a queer artist based in Ghent (Belgium). Noam presents Yummy Body Truck\, a video work about a fictional food truck selling edible human body parts. In their practice they attempt to convey stories of marginalised bodies which often include themselves into designed forms that don’t conform to the cis/heteronormative and colonial power structures. Noam has previously shown work with the Queer Institute of Ecology in Amsterdam. This November\, @Disturbance presents their work in the UK for the first time.  \nOlivia Morrison is a video artist who presents new work Hug Me Properly\, in which she follows the lives of a young\, queer community on a night out. They discuss how their loved ones and lives during the pandemic have changed and how their community is more important than ever. Being a queer disabled filmmaker\, Olivia has a distinct focus on these themes. Olivia was recently on the Feature Film Jury for Iris Prize\, an international LGBTQ+ Film Festival and past work includes Cyber Sex\, a documentary giving a platform to digital sex workers. Their short film Révérence\, tackled themes such as Mental Health\, Class and LGBTQ+ rights.  \nSandrine Schaefer is a video artist. Their practice is frequently presented as performance art installation work that challenges conventional viewing by using repetition\, duration and multisensory elements to enrich the curious viewer. @Disturbance will show a new performance specifically made for camera titled Simple Relations No. 4. They recently relocated from Boston\, Massachusetts to South Carolina in the United States. @Disturbance is excited to profile their first American artist who has extensively shown work in Chicago as well as throughout the United States.  \nOrlando Myxx is an Italian-born London-based multidisciplinary artist whose practice encompasses photography\, film-making and performance. As a non-binary trans-masculine person\, they mainly focus on the exploration of transness as a mental\, physical and cultural experience. Myxx explores how gender non-conforming people are not only questioning the gender norms but are actively opening up awareness and opportunities gender subjectivities and for a cultural change. They will be presenting their film The Plastic Drag\, a visual and sound work that investigates how a new wave of underrepresented gender-non-conforming and diverse drag artists are redefining the art of drag and its subversive potential.  \nSophie Hoyle is a video artist exploring post-colonial\, queer\, feminist\, critical psychiatry and disability. They relate personal experiences of being queer\, non-binary and part of the SWANA (South-West Asian and North African) diaspora to wider forms of structural violence. They will be showing Hyperacusis at @Disturbance: Two films about mental health\, trauma\, gender and sexuality\, access to healthcare and transcultural psychiatry. As well\, intergenerational impacts of racism\, colonialism and other socioeconomic inequalities are highlighted in Sophie’s work. Sophie has previously shown work at the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art Newcastle\, London’s Science Gallery and the Arnolfini\, Bristol as well as internationally\, as far afield as Berlin\, France and Mexico.  \nTalia Beale is originally from London. Their practice\, which includes film\, music and more dissects the process of society’s inner dichotomy via storytelling. This is created through the lens of a queer woman of colour navigating her twenties\, existing in spaces such as Central Saint Martins when their home is a block of flats in Tottenham. For @Disturbance Talia presents To Trudge in Zundon exploring how film making could subvert ideas about housing estates and address new voices\, specifically creative\, queer kids who live in blocks of flats. Talia has collaborated with fashion designer Charles Jeffrey\, musicians Obongjayar and Cruel Santino plus creative organisations who are platforming young artists. Talia’s music has been presented at the likes of Roundhouse\, seminal London  music venue 100 Club\, Tate\, PxssyPalace and more.  \nFor press inquiries\, contact Anna Goodman on 07976247026 abstrakt@abstraktpublicity.co.uk   \n  \n  \n  \n  \n \nGallery Item Name\n\n \n \nGallery Item Name\nLorem ipsum dolor sit amet\, consectetur adipisicing elit. SUMMARY:Otherness Archive: Masculine Desires
DESCRIPTION:A Trans Masc Moving Image Exhibit; a wide range of work focusing on the nuances of the trans masc\nexperience.\n \nAccess: There will be a BSL interpreter for Friday and Saturday Events. The films will all be captioned in English. The space is wheelchair accessible and includes 1 disabled toilet. Seating includes plastic pop out chairs with back support. \n Tickets: We encourage everyone who can afford to to buy the higher priced tickets\, especially if you are not someone from the community that Otherness Archive holds space for. We appreciate your support with this. \n Content Warning: The Dark Room will feature 18+ work and is not suitable for children (be advised: sex\, nudity) \nOtherness Archive presents a selection of moving image work from both international and national filmmakers and artists who submitted to our open call as well as films found by our researchers. The intention of this archival project and exhibit is to create potential ideas and thoughts on what a trans masc archive could look like. Additionally\, to document the process of constructing an archive\, rebuilding an archive\, assembling an archive and how it can act as a no cost living resource for our community. \n“To describe such collections as archives can be controversial; to describe oneself as an archivist without the proper accreditation is hubristic. And yet I believe in the power of the unofficial archive as a place of experimentation\, exploration\, and joy. An unofficial archive creates a playground for research and representation that lives outside the bounds of traditional cataloging and binary systems. It empowers those who collect\, those who donate. It allows limits to be pushed in a way that perhaps the Arts Council England or National Lottery wouldn’t fund; allows freedom from those in power\, who have a stake in prolonging the heteronormative binaries system that we currently live within and around. It is a lawless land\, it is ours for the taking.” – Izzy Kroses (Trans Masc Studies) \nThrough our recent Arts Council grant\, we will be launching a sustainable digital publicly accessible archive focused on core categories. The first of these categories is dedicated to the trans masc experience\, to be launched in November 2022. \nCurated by Sweatmother \nResearchers: Romeo Roxman Gatt\, Yaz Metcalfe\, Sweatmother \n REGISTER FOR Friday 14/10\n REGISTER FOR Saturday 15/10

SUMMARY:Pioneer: Art\, Augmented Reality and Lost Heritage
DESCRIPTION:Pop Up Exhibition: Pioneers and Apparitions\n\nThis one-day exhibition showcases the cutting-edge augmented reality artworks of Luciana Haill and is the London premiere of Pioneer\, an ambitious\, augmented reality (AR) artwork which explores urgent contemporary themes around innovation\, hubris and technology elitism through a reflection on Victorian engineering. The work juxtaposes Victorian engineer Magnus Volk’s unique seagoing electric train on stilts called ‘Pioneer’ (nicknamed ‘Daddy Long Legs’ (1896-1901) to contemporary mobile technologies such as augmented reality\, 5G and SpaceX’s Starlink satellite network.\nAlso\, on show will be a newly updated version of Haill’s earlier series of augmented reality artworks entitled Apparitions\, inspired by three Victorian landmarks lost in wars\, storms and during rapid gentrification.\n\nThe artworks can be triggered using special apps and images or actually at the sites of lost heritage via geotagging. In the case of Pioneer\, the AR artwork is geotagged in such a way that the seagoing train actually appears to travel along the original route of the tracks (between Brighton and Rottingdean) as you walk the coastal path. The works are accompanied by immersive soundscapes which can be experienced using headphones or a wearable SUBPAC tactile audio system.\nThe artist\, Luciana Haill will be present and happy to demonstrate the works and answer questions.\n\n\nArtist Talk Event:\nPioneer: Art\, Augmented Reality and Lost Heritage\n7:30pm\n\n\nJoin artists Luciana Haill and Alex May for a discussion about how artists can work with augmented reality to explore lost heritage and contemporary issues around technology and gentrification\, chaired by Anna Dumitriu. Luciana Haill will present Pioneer and Apparitions and the background to her practice and ideas including her work with EEG brainwave analysis to explore lucid dreaming. Alex May will discuss the process and challenges of bringing historical and natural forms into the world using augmented reality. The presentations will be followed by a discussion and a chance for the audience to ask questions.\n\n\n\nBiographies\n\nLuciana Haill is a British contemporary artist working with new technologies\, neuroscience\, and the unconscious to make invisible mental processes visible. Her work explores lucid dreaming\, meditation and nostalgia and she is known of as a pioneer of EEG art (working with brainwave analysis) as well as augmented reality art. She creates artworks which combine digital media\, augmented reality\, performance\, drawing\, sculpture\, installation and binaural soundscapes. Her work has been shown internationally at locations including The Royal Academy (UK)\, Waag Society Amsterdam\, The Psychedelic Society of The Netherlands\, Liverpool International Festival of Psychedelia\, KIBLA in Slovenia\, CENART in Mexico City\, The Royal Institution (UK)\, and The Sage Gateshead (UK).\nhttp://www.lucianahaill.co.uk/\n\nAlex May is a British contemporary artist whose practice questions how our individual and collective experiences of time\, and formation of memories and cultural record\, are mediated\, expanded\, and directed by contemporary technologies. SUMMARY:Fringe! Queer Film & Arts Festival
DESCRIPTION:HUNGER GAMES – UNDER THE TABLECLOTH a two-course tasting menu \nA night of performance art \n\n If all the food emojis mean different queer attitudes to you\, or if you often hear yourself saying “not in front of my salad”\, explore more with our provocative performances centred around food. \nQueer food and hospitality are rooted in being outcasted by blood families or closest friends when coming out. Queer food is a story\, a journey to finding acceptance. Queer food is not ingredients or labels\, but rather the act of a performance! It’s desire\, disgust and other social and psychological modes of excess that straight culture often shames. \n\n\n18:30 doors open \n19h – 21h // Performances by Dolly Kershow – Kane Stonestreet – Mandla Rae & more \nAbout Fringe \nSince 2011\, Fringe! Queer Film & Arts Fest has been an entirely volunteer-run organisation rooted in London’s queer creative scene. In Novembers\, and throughout the year\, we showcase an eclectic mix of films\, arts and events celebrating LGBTIQA+ stories from around the world\, welcoming everybody. \nFringe! started in 2011 as a community response to arts cuts carnage\, and since then we’ve ‘expanded exponentially to become one of the most innovative and exciting festivals on the circuit.’(Londonist) \nFrom feature films to experimental installations\, workshops and lively debates to wild parties\, Fringe! hosts a multitude of diverse events to tickle every one of the senses. You’ll see us flooding East London’s cinemas\, art galleries\, pop-up venues and basement clubs with the powerful\, provocative and strange. \nAs we continue to develop and our Fringe! family continues to grow\, some things stay the same: a lot of our screenings and events are free or affordable\, we remain open to new voices and ideas\, and we’ll always be queer: celebratory but critical as hell. \n \n

SUMMARY:Ugly Duck presents: These claws shine into belonging by Byuka (Sharing)
DESCRIPTION:These claws shine into belonging is a performance-ritual project created by Byuka (they/them) as part of the Intimate Animals Collective research. \nEvery Tuesday\, for the entire month of July\, Byuka facilitated ritual-workshops at Ugly Duck in correspondence with the phases of the moon. Informed by these workshops\, Byuka will present a performative work in progress piece on the 1st of September\, in collaboration with sound artist Nicole Bettencourt Coelho. \nThese claws shine into belonging is a series of experiments at creating mythologies informed by hybridity\, queerness and magic. They are focused on werewolf transformations as a framework for expanding the self\, questioning normativity and reconnecting our bodies’ rhythm to nature’s cyclicity. This is not a Hollywood trope glorification\, but an animist reflection on identity and belonging. \nThese themes are tackled through a couple of theoretical and embodiment approaches\, such as ritual\, shapeshifting techniques\, ancestral healing and embodied speculative fiction. \nAs our society changed\, the meaning we assigned to the werewolf hybrid changed. A multispecies mythology is not (only) about reframing past narratives\, but its most important role is in futuring. \nWhat is the meaning of the werewolf’s archetype and spirit in our future? Can they become an empowered ally who inspires us due to their ability to transcend nature-culture binaries?

SUMMARY:相/Phase Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:相/Phase is an interactive\, algorithmic artwork\, exploring how the abstract\, mathematical and basic\nrules of physics evolve into our infinitely varied\, macro and observable/tangible world of organisms\nand things.\n\nOriginally commissioned by Chinese Arts Now in 2020 as a digital artwork\, 相/Phase will be\npresented as a sculptural\, moving image installation for the work’s first physical exhibition. Visitors\ncan experience 相/Phase physically in the space and use a bespoke device to influence its infinite\noutcomes.\n\n相/Phase is a visual manifestation of physicist Stephen Wolfram’s theory that the universe is\ncomprised of “a set of simple rules\, that with repetition and expansion\, could contain infinite\npossibilities for creation” (Project to Find the Fundamental Theory of Physics\, 2020). This theory\nresonates with the principles of Daoist philosophy\, known as Daosim or Taoism\, founded in the late\n4th century BCE in China. The core principle of Daoism is living in harmony with the ever-changing\nrhythms of life\, with the word ‘Dao’ meaning “way or path”. Dao represents the pattern and\nsubstance of everything that exists\, acting as the underlying natural order of the universe.\nTo express these enigmatic notions\, Seph uses the aesthetics and fluidity of Chinese ink painting\,\ntranslating this ancient medium into a contemporary digital form. As visitors use the small device to\ninteract with the installation\, a mesmerising cosmic experience unfolds within the painting in front\nof them.\n\n\nDates & Times \nWednesday 3rd August\, 12pm – 6pm \nThursday 4th – Saturday 6th\, 10am – 6pm \nSunday 7th\, 10am – 3pm \n\nEvents/Live Programme\nPrivate Tours\, Wed 3rd Aug\, 12pm – 6pm\nRegister here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/379084962327\n\nLate Night Opening Event\, Thurs 4th Aug\, 6-9pm\nRegister here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/379566713257\n\nArtist Talk with Seph & Katrina\, Sun 7th Aug\, 12pm – 1:30pm\nRegister here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/379701747147\n\nArtist Biography – Seph Li\nBorn in 1988 in Beijing\, China\, Seph holds bachelor degrees in both Compute Science and Digital\nDesign from Tsinghua University. SUMMARY:WAXING MOON CEREMONY
DESCRIPTION:WAXING MOON CEREMONY: WEREWOLF RITUAL-WORKSHOP\nJOIN OUR WEREWOLF TRANSFORMATION SERIES\, AS WE CELEBRATE THE WAXING MOON THROUGH A POETIC-MEDITATIVE MOVEMENT JOURNEY!\nWORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:\nAs the light of the moon is growing\, it’s a fertile time for self-reflection and gathering momentum for new beginnings. This first workshop will be the start of our reconnection to our wolf siblings through an anti-speciesist lens. \nUsing poetic visualization\, breathwork and movement\, we will travel back to our embryonic state\, which in its early development shares the same stages as other mammals\, including wolves. \nWe will go to our first meetings\, thousands of years ago\, tracing the root of our histories together\, including our long term friendship with dogs and the widespread portrayal of wolves and their fusion with our species into one creature- as either magical helpers\, curses from the gods\, or frightening monsters with an impressive amount of space taken in the horror genre in the last 2 centuries or more. \nFOR WHO:\nThe workshops are open to all levels – no movement or performance experience necessary . Participants can choose their own rhythm within the journey. \nUnfortunately the space is not accessible by wheelchair. \nMORE ABOUT THE OVERALL PROJECT:\nThese claws shine into belonging is a performance-ritual project created by Byuka (they/them) as part of the Intimate Animals Collective research. \nEvery Tuesday\, for the entire month of July\, Byuka will facilitate workshops at Ugly Duck in correspondence with the phases of the moon. Their work investigates animism\, queerness and intimacy through ritual and speculative fiction. \nThey are the co-creator of the Intimate Animals collective\, where they explore eco-somatics through experiments of multispecies mythology-making and hybridisation workshops. Their work is also focused towards community engagement and ancestral healing through the collaborative project Your pain is humming in my vertebrae. \nByuka holds a BA in Performance Art from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and has performed and facilitated workshops internationally. \nRecent residencies include ‘Transcendence’ with Kimatica Studio at the Watermans Art Centre (London\, 2018) and “Beauty Kit female farm” with Isabel Burr Raty at Mediamatic (Amsterdam\, 2019). Performances include ‘Water Temple’ at Heart Culture Festival (Austria\, 2018)\, ‘Walking through porous soil’ at the Royal Albert Hall (London\, 2018)\, ‘Wet’ at Camden People’s Theatre (London\, 2019) and The Ghost Port (Iklektik\, 2022). \nDATES:\n5\, 12\, 19\, 26 July 2022 (7 – 9 pm)

SUMMARY:CLUSTER CRAFTS 2022 FAIR
DESCRIPTION:CLUSTER CRAFTS 2022 FAIR\nProud to announce Cluster Crafts 2022 Fair\, our first post pandemic Crafts art fair\, featuring a physical exhibition of 70+ international artists. Cluster Crafts is officially returning\nto the physical realm after a long and fruitful virtual season. After our last in-person Crafts Fair in 2019\, Cluster is returning to London in Spring 2022 with a focus on Glass & Movement\, celebrating the United Nations International Year of Glass 2022. The fair seeks to platform young\, emerging designers working within all mediums of craft and challenge the boundaries between craft\, design\, sculpture and Fine Art. \nOne central part of our fair will be dedicated to honouring the intricate craft of glassblowing and highlighting its connection to physical movement in terms of its different techniques. We will be showcasing a range of emerging artists working with this versatile medium in a variety of striking\, experimental and unique ways\, representing the full breadth and richness of contemporary glass craft. Alongside this\, Cluster Crafts 2022 will also be displaying works in other mediums such as ceramics\, wood\, metal and more\, which bear an imprint of motion and of the body through a highly physical\, often laborious and therefore particularly intimate process of creation. \nAbandoning the gallery-based model of traditional art fairs\, Cluster pioneers in direct representation\, working with artists and cutting out middlemen. Unfiltered\, our connection to artists permits an intimate engagement making the fair not only a place to sell but a location for development and camaraderie. The event will take place at the atmospheric Ugly Duck warehouse – historically\, it was a Victorian tannery and many original features still remain to this day.\nWe hand-picked each of the participating artists\, making sure the whole professional spectrum is represented – already acclaimed and established names\, emerging artists\, award-winning craftsmen and fresh graduates. They will be coming to London for an exclusive\, one-of-a-kind Crafts fair to make their statements. For each edition of Cluster\, we strive towards new ground\, we find new talent\, we create new experiences and we make new opportunities. Join us on this voyage as we come together forging an innovative pathway through the creative landscape of the Twenty-First Century. \nOpening Night 7th July | 6:00PM – 9:00PM\nOpening Times: 8th – 10th July 11:00AM – 6:00PM

SUMMARY:CITY AND GUILDS OF LONDON ART SCHOOL X UGLY DUCK PRESENTS “IMPRESSIONS”
DESCRIPTION:IMPRESSIONS\n\nCITY AND GUILDS OF LONDON ART SCHOOL X UGLY DUCK PRESENTS “IMPRESSIONS”\nThis year we are presenting a body of work which celebrates the ongoing development of students from first and second year BA Fine Art at City & Guilds of London Art School. The interim show is a brilliant opportunity to view work from a multitude of talented artists beginning their careers as creative practitioners. It offers an insight into the studio practice from an art school that has smaller and more personal groups. This in turn reveals a coalescence of artworks that are made in a creative environment that grows organically and collectively. We as students have cooperated to present artworks ranging from paintings and prints to sculptures and installations\, some fierce and raw\, others clean and uncluttered. However\, all come together to leave a mark\, a presence\, an impression on the space that they occupy.

SUMMARY:COLLIDE THEATER
DESCRIPTION:COLLIDE THEATER CELEBRATES\nCollide Theatre is turning 7 years old and is celebrating with lots of live events! We are inviting an exciting emerging company to create two pieces in the very same space where Collide created their iconic HAMLETMACHINE.\nJoin us for a weekend of celebration\, live music\, theatre and visual art.\n\n1. PSYCHONAUT – Live Art exhibition (Saturday / open from 2pm to 4pm / durational piece) in the Garage – £5\nPsychonaut is the first performance exhibition by Psychonaut Theatre\, which invites the audience into a highly visual exploration of identity. The exhibition features six original pieces by the collective’s individual artists\, exploring themes such as sexuality\, gender idenity\, abusive parenthood\, feminism\, neuroatypicality and social politics\, with the work taking the form of different mediums\, including live durational performance\, short film and installation. On entering the space\, one is free to wander around and explore a range of different artistic approaches to identity\, and in some cases they are even invited to interact with the performers. \n2. MUMS – Performance (Friday at 7.30pm & Saturday at 5.30pm) in the Garage / £10\na wonderful tragic family \na bubble \ngrief \nwaiting \nThey thought this moment would change everything. But does it? \nMums is a poetic and delicate look into the state of grieving\, following one family in their attempt to adjust to a new reality. Inspired by Jean Luc-Lagarce’s play J’étais dans ma maison et j’attendais que la pluie vienne\, the piece is a collage of different original texts\, songs and movement\, interwoven and devised by the company. In this new site-specific version\, developed in response to Ugly Duck\, the five performers take the audience on a journey through the characters’ grief\, asking what pain is and inviting them to deepen their awareness of this universal state. \n3. Collide Celebrates – Event with Live Music in the Garage (Saturday 7.30pm) / £15\nCollide is a female-led theatre company based in London. Formed by director Emily Louizou in May 2015\, Collide’s mission is to make highly visual performances which merge storytelling with dance and live music. Since their inception\, they have created five sold-out performances which have received stellar reviews by audiences and critics\, alike. Collide has also been named as “one of the ten most promising companies to watch” in 2019-2020 by the New Diorama Theatre in London. They embrace London as their basis and cultural hub\, but they draw inspiration from their varied European backgrounds. They are fuelled by a need to create theatre for an audience who is willing to come on a journey with them\, questioning preconceived ideas\, and confronting the challenging aspects of human nature. Deeply grounded in their belief in equality\, human fragility and tolerance\, Collide fosters an environment where creative individuals from all disciplines can ‘collide’. \nAfter two successful site-specific and promenade performances at Ugly Duck’s warehouse (Hamletmachine in 2016\, and Tejas Verdes in 2017)\, Collide returns to Tanner Street for one night only to celebrate what a roller-coaster these past 7 years have been. Join a great line up of artists who will perform a selection from Collide’s old and new work\, inviting everyone on a night dedicated to the importance of live performance. \nAbout Psychonaut Theatre\nPsychonaut Theatre is an emerging intermedial\, multidisciplinary collective\, consisting of six individual artists and theatre-makers\, all graduating from BA Acting and Performance at Wimbledon College of Arts\, UAL. Their work covers a range of disciplines\, with each of the artists having their own unique styles\, skills\, interests\, and cultural and training backgrounds. As a company\, they aim to combine these elements to create original and experimental contemporary performance that often asks questions about the nature of theatre as a live art form. In collaboration\, their work always puts their artists first\, striving to ensure the representation of each of their members in their work.

SUMMARY:UGLY DUCK PRESENT THE PREMIERE OF SIGALA
DESCRIPTION:SIGALA IS A MOVEMENT EXPERIMENT THAT COMBINES DANCE AND FINE ART PERFORMANCE TO INTERROGATE THE DYNAMICS OF SOCIALIZATION…\nSIGALA is a movement experiment that combines dance and fine art performance to interrogate the dynamics of socialization\, kinship\, time\, and intergenerational connection initially prescribed through the nuclear family. Three performers deconstruct and shapeshift between the roles of “mother\, father\, and child\,” through an ungendering and dis/embodiment of mythologies\, personal histories\, and the collective unconscious; locating elysium fields as adolescent liminality and hand clap games as ritual. SIGALA is directed by Anju Marie Kasturiraj\, features performances by Nat Li Lin Steinhouse\, Gabriel Bonet\, and Maria Kontouli\, and was devised together by all four of them.

SUMMARY:MAKING A NARRATIVE ARK
DESCRIPTION:IS CONTINUITY OR DISCONTINUITY MORE IMPORTANT IN STORYTELLING? HOW CAN WE THINK OF NARRATION AS A TRANSFORMATIVE JOURNEY?\nThe ship wherein Theseus and the youth of Athens returned from Crete had thirty oars\, and was preserved by the Athenians down even to the time of Demetrius Phalereus\, for they took away the old planks as they decayed\, putting in new and stronger timber in their places\, insomuch that this ship became a standing example among the philosophers\, for the logical question of things that grow; one side holding that the ship remained the same\, and the other contending that it was not the same. \n— Plutarch\, Theseus \nMAKING A NARRATIVE ark is a three-part workshop for artists\, writers and performers to experiment with storytelling as a practice of displacement. Each of the sessions will focus on gathering\, replacing\, and floating the ideas and material to produce a collection where the emphasis is not on coherence and completion\, but inconsistency and in-progression. \nWhat makes it into the ship and what doesn’t? This thought experiment blurs the distinction between creation and rehearsal\, between departure and arrival\, sameness and difference. We’ve been here before\, but this practice is no longer the same. \nThe text/images/sounds/gestures we bring will form the basis of a pirate radio broadcast on twitch: a stream of collective consciousness which bears the wake of our sailing ship. \nThe series of workshops will be hosted by Frances Whorrall-Campbell on Zoom at 6pm on 8\, 15\, and 22 March. All skill levels and practices welcome\, but the sessions will be particularly focused on exploring sound\, images\, text and movement in an interdisciplinary way. \nArtist bio: Frances Whorrall-Campbell is an artist\, writer and cultural worker. Their current research approaches confusion as trans method\, working with puns and parody to explore the affective- and effectiveness of this strategy. This has resulted in publications\, performances\, and participatory events which consider what it means to be an authority on one’s own life. In 2020-1\, Frances was a (digital) resident at Wysing Arts Centre\, and in 2021-23 they are a Research Associate at the Centre for Contemporary Art Derry~Londonderry.

SUMMARY:UGLY DUCK & KINESIS COLLECTIVE PRESENTS: SHOCKED QUARTZ
DESCRIPTION:‘SHOCKED QUARTZ’ WILL PRESENTS 13 ARTISTS FROM THE TRANS\, NON-BINARY AND INTERSEX COMMUNITIES.\n\n\nHow does our relationship to survival change over time? Is crisis something we have become too attached to as an educational tool? How may shock\, or shaking\, give way to alternatives? \nShocked Quartz takes its name from the metamorphic features that develop on rocks during a highly pressured event such as a meteorite crash or natural disaster. Currently\, the transgender movement has reached a specific moment in history\, which some describe as the ‘transgender tipping point’. It is a moment of rupture\, dissensus\, and instability\, but also an opportunity and potential – a shaking of structure and the production of new meanings. Shocked Quartz will examine themes of political and personal crisis\, initiating dialogue around how queer\, transgender people survive during tumultuous times. \nFeaturing Artists\n\nLou Lou Sainsbury\nTirdad Hashemi\nPuer Deorum\nAlex Diamond-Rivlin\nGray Wielebinski\nMatthew Rimmer\nRudy Loewe\nDeen Atger\nShadi Al-Atallah\nEve Stainton\nEbun A Sodipo\nRomeo Roxman\n\nCo-curated by Alex Diamond-Rivlin and Deen Atger

SUMMARY:DE-ORIENTED
DESCRIPTION:THE DE-ORIENTED EXHIBITION WILL FEATURE EMERGING SOUTHEAST ASIAN ARTISTS LIVING AND WORKING IN LONDON\nThe aim of the exhibition is to challenge stereotypes and misunderstandings of Southeast Asia. \nThere are common misconceptions surrounding Southeast Asian countries and cultures within the UK\, where the image of white palm-lined beaches often mask the tumultuous political and social reality. Today\, Southeast Asian nations are on the frontline of the climate emergency\, facing political unrest and outdated gender roles. They are also\, however\, a place where so many call home. Though the exhibition will aim to draw attention to stigmas around Southeast Asian cultures\, it will take a light hearted and humorous approach to the subject matter. \nTaking place in the Bermondsey’s ‘Ugly Duck’ on 49 Tanner Street\, the exhibition will be a collaboration of Central Saint Martins students and alumni as well as unaffiliated London-based artists of Southeast Asian heritage\, showcasing the works ranging from illustrations\, films to installation\, and performance. \nWe believe that a range of mixed practices can open up conversation and an exchange of ideas for all communities. It is our hope that the work on show within this exhibition will inspire openness to visitors. \nExhibition De-Oriented will culminate in the launch of the An.other Asian (AOA)\, an artist-led collective. The goal of AOA is to create a safe space for all Southeast Asian artists to foster and present ideas. Ultimately\, AOA aims to create an open platform for artistic and cultural exchanges among artists\, cultural workers\, and intellectuals from different backgrounds through activities such as exhibitions\, showcases\, workshops\, film screenings\, art talks\, and discussions.

SUMMARY:SECOND SKIN
DESCRIPTION:AN EVENING EXPLORING MULTIPLE TRANS-IDENTITIES THROUGH FILMS\, PERFORMANCES AND DISCUSSIONS\n\n\n\nUgly Duck is incredibly proud to invite Hélène Alix Mourrier to present their latest film HERMAN@S (SiblingX) for the first time in London at Ugly Duck.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFilms \n \nHERMAN@S (SiblingX) – 28 min \nOne night in Mexico in October 2011\, a dream of a mysterious and prescient bird inspired a manifesto\, written in one breath. It gave birth to Cuco\, a transgender latex pirate. Cuco first appeared one December night in a club in France. But\, Cuco is not just a simple night owl. By coming up against transphobia and the state of emergency\, they begin to ally themselves with other lives left behind. HERMAN@S follows this little knight of night and day through every event they create as they try to form of recognition and resistance with those they calls mis hermanas\, mis hermanos. \n \nIntimate Thread – 16 min \nIntimate Threads is a joint performance across continents. Bunny Cadag embodies the precolonial figure of a Babaylan (shamans in the pre-colonial Philippines) channeling the spirit of the Snake Woman\, the offspring of the mythopoetic practice of Niya B. \nDefying the colonial patriarchal narratives\, the artists co-inhabit a space of possibilities for trans species and trans cultural entanglements to create a storytelling\, that is inclusive of the plurality of gender and of non-human species. \nPerformances  \n \nCYBITCH (becoming a cyborg bitch) – Hélène Alix Mourrier \nCYBITCH is a performance that takes the figure of the BITCH\, as a figure to invest and to live as\, to rethink the assignments\, the hindrances\, the empowerment and the affective acts that resource our bodies and our struggles. The proposal is based on radical feminist texts from the 70’s (SCUM Manifesto by Valerie Solanas and BITCH Manifesto by Joreen) mixed with personal writings to create an explosive cut-up technique with an intimate and viral texture that gives power to make the private\, political. BITCH uses the practice of clubbing in order to reverse the relation of forces\, the glances\, to join in the common space of bodies which form together to create alliances. \nBecause BITCH is unleashed\, BITCH wants to get off\, between them and with the whole Universe. \n \nJoseph Morgan Schofield \nJoseph Morgan Schofield (b. 1993\, Rochdale\, UK) uses performance\, moving image\, writing and curation to create ‘queer ritual action’. This action explores desire\, grief\, ecology and the wilding of queer and trans* futurity. Their practice is relational\, emerging through encounters between the sweating\, wanting\, sensate non-binary body and a host of human/other-than agents. \nwww.josephmorganschofield.com

SUMMARY:DEEP MEANINGFUL CONVERSATION
DESCRIPTION:DEEP MEANINGFUL CONVERSATION CURATED BY BABETTE WHITING AND HUGO HAGGER\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n‘From the tunnels\, from the sewers\, where two rat armies were locked in a life-and- death battle\, came a wish of wastewater\, a subterranean subtext. Today was a beautiful day.’ –Bohumil Hrabal\, Too Loud a Solitude \n‘The tunnel is a political site\, but in itself it is not ideological. Moral or corrupt\, it does not discriminate between its users. It is fragile and fickle\, vulnerable to infiltration and appropriation\, and liable to collapse – but through its ability to subvert\, disrupt and elide\, its work is always against power.’ – Lili Zarzycki\, The Architectural Review issue 1480 \nThe Well to Hell Hoax of 1989\, was first circulated by an American religious broadcasting network\, reporting that a Soviet scientific programme in Siberia had drilled a borehole so deep that they had broken through to hell. In their account\, upon reaching 14.4km depth they were met with an apparent chamber of fire\, and dropped down a heat tolerant microphone only to hear the ‘screams of the tormented’. \nThese ‘screams of the tormented’ featured in the broadcast transpired to be various loops and samples taken from the 1972 Italian horror film; Baron Blood.\nIn 1970 the Soviet Union began drilling the Kola Superdeep Borehole\, located not in Siberia but on the Kola Peninsula bordering Norway and Finland. The project was completed in 1989\, the hole reached a depth of over 12km\, but only 9 inches in diameter\, making it the deepest artificial point in the world. The borehole is now\nwelded shut. \nThe hoax provided fertile ground to explore ideas of the deep\, of depth\, of subcultures\, the clandestine\, of moving against power in the warrens of illegibility. This exhibition (and accompanying book) is founded on a group research project into the subterranean.\nIn a world seemingly resolute in its own immolation\, these artists dive prematurely underground. They reckon with the second world beneath our feet\, the dark (non) places in which bodies might define themselves away from socialised codification\, places that hold mystical knowledge\, places of danger and of rescue. They deviate with rats\, burrowing alternative networks of thinking and discovering new\, non-hegemonic strategies with which to build meaning. \nArtists\nHugo Hagger  Artist/Curator \nwww.hugohagger.co.uk // @hugohagger  \nBabette Whiting Artist/Curator \nwww.babettewhiting.co.uk  @Babette.whiting  \nChristopher Bond Exhibiting Artist  \n@skysportz \nCeleste Anstruther / Exhibiting Artist  \nwww.anstrutherc.com / @anstrutherc \nJames Sibley / Exhibiting Artist  \nwww.jamessibley.co.uk \nDexter Stokes-Mellor / Exhibiting Artist  \nwww.dexterstokes-mellor.com \nAidan Hendrickse / Exhibiting artist  \n@click_mute

SUMMARY:COURTAULD LGBTQIA+ SOCIETY – ‘CRAFTING OURSELVES’
DESCRIPTION:‘CRAFTING OURSELVES’\n\n\n\n\nIn collaboration with Ugly Duck\, Courtauld LGBTQIA+ Society is staging a 3-day event of LGBTQIA+ craft\nFrom We’wha’s Native American textiles\, to Bloomsbury Group ceramics\, to t-shirts dyed by the Lavender Menace\, craft has long been a key part of LGBTQIA+ visibility\, creativity\, identity and community. To further this\, we are organising a free and accessible showcase of LGBTQIA+ crafts\, which will provide opportunities for artistic interactions between underrepresented artists and Ugly Duck’s community of visitors\, with the aim of enhancing intersectional LGBTQIA+ solidarities. \nThe show will be opening on the Friday at 6-9PM and will be open both Saturday and Sunday at 9AM-6PM. For the event’s exhibition\, the Courtauld LGBTQIA+ Society’s Committee are selecting a broad range of artworks—everything from textile works to ceramics to papercrafts—that contribute to ‘crafting’ LGBTQIA+ identities and communities. As well as the art works on display\, they will have an interactive mural that visitors will be invited to add to (with collage materials supplied) throughout the three days. They are also planning on hosting a little workshop and film screening at some point during the weekend (details TBC). \nThe Courtauld LGBTQIA+ Society is an intersectional space and platform for students to discuss issues that are important to our queer\, trans and intersex lives. Anyone can come and enjoy our wide range of events – from talks held by professional queer curators to less formal Queer Art Show and Tell evenings\, to even less formal wine-fuelled socials and film screenings. The society has been going for five years now and we can’t wait to welcome you to this supportive community \n

They exist uniquely in each other’s company as a single entity. Our work centers joy and working within our needs\, at its core. We are gentle\, bold\, caring and ridiculous – filling the room with undertones that communicate our viewpoints as neurodivergent\, queer\, working class\, immigrant\, artists. We are clear and precise in our nonsense. Our work is interdisciplinary; We use film\, performance\, voiceover\, music\, clowning\, improvisation\, interaction and costume. \nRobert Hall – Robert Hall recently graduated from the Digital Arts Computing course at Goldsmiths. Creating a final piece in the middle of lockdown\, Rob was forced to explore online ways of making artwork. He worked with a group of Artists in Residence at Arebyte Gallery\, to help them curate a series of Live-Streams to replace the public programme that would have been held. Out of this came new ideas around creating content live. After lockdown\, Rob started B-Side Live\, a company hoping to use these new ideas to help artists and performers not able to perform in person. Rob has since worked with a variety of artists and performers\, from five piece bands performing out of a warehouse to dancers and movement artists at Ugly Duck Theatre\, mentoring performers in how to best translate their live performance into one that works online.

DESCRIPTION:MOVING PHOTON\n\nMoving Photon is an interactive installation/performance created by installation artist Friendred Peng that explores embodiment\, social connection and remote presence during the age of the pandemic. This work translates physiological data from live EEG recordings to an installation and explores embodied approaches in computational synergized space. \nIn this piece\, EEG data is streamed live to control the morphology of an installation during a dance performance. The perception of the machine by the participant is translated into movement\, manipulating the viewers’ experience and creating a perceptive feedback loop of human-machine communication. \nVisitors may also register for an interactive experience with the installation\, where wearable devices will capture the movement of the body to orchestrate the motion of the installation. \nThere will be a virtual event during one of the evening performances during which participants will be able to interact remotely through a web browser and their mobile phones to explore a sense of presence through a virtual interface and experience collective social connection. \n\n \n\nBookings \nParticipation in Moving Photon can be in 5 different ways\, including a Phantom performance\, interactive installation\, interactive performance\, interactive performance with EEG and a remote performance. \nDuring the Phantom performance which will happen every morning\, you will be experiencing an environment consisting of pre-recorded brain wave data from previous participants while they watch the dancer improvising. During the nights there will be performances you can register to attend. You can either choose to wear an EEG cap to watch the performance while the data is live streamed feeding into the installation directly or to be a spectator. The dancer will improvise according to the live manifestation of brainwave data. In the afternoon prior to the evening performances\, you can book an interactive installation ticket where you can experience the installation using wearable sensors and data to directly control its movement. \n*If you choose to participate for the EEG\, you will be contacted by us prior to the performance with more detailed information. \n*If you choose to participant participate remotely\, a few things you might want to know before attending the performance: \n\nInstructions will be sent out to you\, and you will be asked to download an app on your mobile device\nWe will have a technical support team to help you to download and connect to our server to control the performance onsite\nYou will need to attend the performance online half an hour before it starts\n\nPerformance dates \n5th – 9th January 2022 \nAbout the artist: \nFriendred is an installation and computational artist currently based in London. He is a lecturer in Digital Media at UCL and is in completion of his PhD at Goldsmiths\, University of London\, researching the intertwined relationship between technology and performance arts in the field of HCI. \nFriendred has been focused on disciplines crossing arts\, technology and sciences. His recent work bridged the conversation between movement and algorithmic machines\, exploring the sensory apparatus and interactive systems. Through the exploration of technologized elements and societal influences and entangled relationships with other disciplines\, the emergence of embodiment\, technologized performance and the architectural body have emerged as his main interests. \nHis works were published on several well-known design and technology platforms including DesignBoom and CreativeApplications and has won several prestigious awards including Shanghai Da Shi Award\, the Bronze prize in the third Cultural and Creative Design Competition amongst others. Friendred has exhibited his works at Tate Britain\, The Design Museum and several other museums and galleries. \n \nFriendred’s website and social media handles \nhttps://friendred.studio/ \nInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/friendred0.0/ \nStudio Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/friendred.studio/ \nFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/StudioFriendred \nTwitter: https://twitter.com/_friendred \nCredits: \nMoving Photon is directed by Friendred Peng\, danced and choreographed by Serian Griffiths\, scored by Danny Hynds. SUMMARY:TYLOR AND VINCENTS – THE LAB
DESCRIPTION:THE LAB BY TYLOR AND VINCENT\n\n\nArtist duo Tylor and Vincent want to extend their supportive neuroqueer environment of creating and experimenting through THE LAB. What do they mean by “neuroqueer”? In this context they are defining neuroqueer as people who are both queer and neurodivergent (autistic\, adhd\, add\, ocd\, bpd\, etc.) Formal diagnosis is not required. \nTHE LAB \n\n\nThe LAB is a free two day experience for 15 participants\, where we centre neuroqueer creativity and process. The space will be both fluid and held by andrea and danni and supported by our facilitators.\ \nWorkshops will be given by andrea and danni as well as our facilitators who have expertise in varying areas of performance making and wellbeing. \nThese workshops will provide an opportunity to experiment and create the beginnings of a creative idea. \nThe workshops will include movement\, stimming\, music\, video\, character\, poetry and wellbeing (e.g. tarot) \nThere will be breaks throughout the day \nThe space will be co-facilitated and co-produced where we blend down the hierarchies of teacher/leader/student/attendee \nThe LAB will focus on creating a balance of verbal and non-verbal communication. There will be both. \n15 participants \nThere will be 3 workshop facilitators\, plus andrea and danni \nSensory goody bag (stim toys\, notebook\, pen\, etc.) \nOpportunity to explore and experiment creatively as a group and individually \nA chance to be around other neurodivergent queer folk \n\n\nWHO THIS LAB IS FOR \nPeople who are interested in creating and sharing work \nPeople who are interested in creatively experimenting \nPeople who are craving the magic that happens when neuroqueer people come together and focus on joy \nPeople interested in the ridiculousness of the ridiculous \nPeople interested in  nonsense as the-most-sense \nPeople who are already on a journey in art making/performance making/creative endeavours (at any level) (this includes in your bedroom) \n\n\nABOUT TYLOR AND VINCENT \nTylor and Vincent are an artistic duo created by Danni Spooner and Andrea Spisto. They exist uniquely in each other’s company as a single entity. Danni and Andrea met at an R&D in 2018 and have worked as Tylor and Vincent since. \nOur work centres joy and our needs\, at its core\, as opposed to a more traditional “technique” based practice. We are gentle\, bold\, caring and ridiculous – filling the room with undertones that communicate our viewpoints as neurodivergent\, queer\, working class\, immigrant\, artists. We are clear and precise in our nonsense. Our work is interdisciplinary; We use film\, performance\, voiceover\, music\, clowning\, improvisation and costume. \n\nThis was written by danni and andrea who are both neurodivergent. We understand if you have questions / if so please email tylorandvincenttv@gmail.com \n\nTylor and Vincent: \nhttps://www.andreaspisto.com/tv-the-pilot \nhttps://www.andreaspisto.com/tv-pussy-and-money \nhttps://www.andreaspisto.com/tv-home \nhttps://www.instagram.com/tylorandvincent/?hl=en \nDanni:  \nhttps://www.instagram.com/dannisp00ner/ \nhttps://www.tiktok.com/@dannisp00ner \nDre: \nwww.andreaspisto.com

SUMMARY:CIRCLE OF IDIOTS
DESCRIPTION:CIRCLE OF IDIOTS\n\nHave you ever thought you’re a total idiot? Good news! You probably are. \nThere’s a whole world of beautiful performance to be made if we can get in touch with our magnificent inner idiot\, take a risk\, follow our impulse and find the pleasure in playing from exactly who we are. \nIn this workshop\, we’ll play games\, explore presence technique\, laugh at each other\, laugh at ourselves\, perhaps cry a bit (hope not too much crying) and get some great insight into who we are as performers and people and the incredible potential to be found in working with what we’ve got. \nAnd we’ll work in the round! The circle is a powerful symbol of infinity\, inclusivity and completeness\, a space where nothing is wrong and everything has meaning. If we want! \nYou are cordially invited to join me in stepping into the ridiculous\, infinite unknown. \nSuitable for: professional performers/directors\, creatives of all kinds\, anyone who interacts with humans. \nLucy Hopkins is an award-winning clown\, creative consultant and High Priestess of Idiot. The foundation of all of her work is her full-hearted belief that people are tremendous. \nhttps://www.lucyhopkins.com \n\nTICKETS\n£120 Concession price/ £150 Standard price
