SUMMARY:@DISTUBANCE
DESCRIPTION:@DISTUBANCE: SHOWCASE OF QUEER PERFORMANCES & VIDEO ART TRANSCENDING BOUNDARIES BETWEEN DIGITAL & PHYSICAL SPACE.\n\n \n\n\nAfter the success of our first @Disturbance show in October 2020 Ugly Duck are coming back with a new selection of queer experimentations around dance\, performance and video art using livestream as our creative medium. On the 24th February we will be live broadcasting from Ugly Duck Studios at 47/49 Tanner Street. \n@Disturbance is a project supporting diversity\, under-represented bodies and voices in the arts. It has been designed to challenge power dynamics\, offering a platform for new representations of genders\, bodies\, identities and sexualities. \nWith a full LGBTQI+ lineup of performers and video artists living or based in Southwark: Ugly Duck wants to cultivate the area’s home grown talent\, and this platform will champion the creatives in our neighbourhood alongside artists from further afield. Each selected participant will receive a bespoke programme to include mentoring sessions on professional\, creative and technical best practices. \n  \n\n \n\n\nOperating since 2012\, Ugly Duck is an arts organisation that revitalises underused spaces by opening them up for creative uses. Our programme enables makers\, community groups\, professionals and the public to come together. By hosting unique cultural experiences and curated events we promote and support under-represented and emerging artists. \n\n \n\nPerformers \nFAUCI \nValeria Radchenko \nLee Campbell  \nVideo artists \nQigemu (April Lin 林森 and Jasmine Lin) \nAmy Pennington  \nJonathon Luke Baker \nInstallation artist \nAnya Palamartschuk \nLive Stream and computer art \nRobert Hall / B Side Live \nCurator \nDeen Atger \n\n \nThanks to Team London Bridge for supporting the project.

SUMMARY:OPPORTUNITY FOR LGBTQI+ ARTISTS
DESCRIPTION:@DISTURBANCE // SOUTHWARK LGBTQI+ SPECIAL\n\nWe are over the moon to announce the support from local organisation Team London Bridge to continue our experimentation around dance\, performance\, video art and live stream with our project @Disturbance. \n@Disturbance is a platform supporting diversity\, underrepresented bodies and voices in the arts. It aims at transcending boundaries between digital & physical space using creative augmented livestream. With a full LGBTQI+ lineup of performers and video artists\, Ugly Duck wants to cultivate Southwark’s home grown talent\, organising technical workshops\, mentoring sessions and providing a platform for performances (physically if permitted and online). \n \nAfter a successful first edition in October 2020\, we are now looking for artists to be part of the second show at the end of February (exact date tbc as we are hoping to be able to open the doors to a small number of audience) \nWe are looking for 3 performers / groups to showcase works in between 10 min and 25 min. It can be an existing work that we adapt for the space and the stream or a new creation / work in progress.\nWe are also looking for 5 video artists whose work will be presented during the show in between performances. \nThe project will develop in the following steps \nCall out + Selection \nCreative Mentorship – Ugly Duck\nTechnical workshop and rehearsals – Ugly Duck\nPerformance \nSend your ideas / work / videos to submission@ugluyduck.org.uk – Call out open until 25th January.\n\nWe are also in partnership with LGBT Southwark Network for this event.
