Ugly Duck, an independent arts space that has been a home for experimental, queer, trans, and anti-institutional cultural practices for over a decade. We are currently working on A Collective Archive, a vital project directed by Deen Atger that will document and preserve the legacy of Ugly Duck as a space of radical creativity, collective resistance, and community care. The project has already received funding from Arts Council England for its collective archive publication and public programme.
As part of this archive, we are publishing a book: Ugly Duck 2012 – 2025: How We Became an Anti/Institution in the London Cultural Landscape
The project will conclude with a week-long exhibition accompanied by performances and talks, marking the impact of Ugly Duck on London’s cultural landscape.
We would love you to get involved and take part in shaping the design of the book!
Please bring scissors, magazines, and any images you like to use or of your work!
