Ugly Duck Closure

After more than ten years of reimagining what an arts space can be, Ugly Duck will be closing its doors on August 12 as our wonderful Tanner Street Warehouse will shortly be being its redevelopment journey
What started as a temporary project grew into something much larger—a home for experimental, interdisciplinary, and socially conscious work. From day one, we set out to create space for underrepresented voices, meaningful dialogues and artistic care. We want to take this opportunity to say thank you to the artists, audiences, and communities who brought it to life, and helped our vision become a reality.
Ugly Duck was never just about the building. It was about what happened inside it: moments of joy, resistance, vulnerability, connection, and transformation. Together, we made room for the kind of art—and the kind of conversations—that don’t always fit within traditional institutions.
We are incredibly proud of what we’ve built and profoundly grateful to everyone who’s been part of this journey. While the space itself is coming to an end, the legacy we created together lives on—in memories, in future projects, and in the belief that something different is always possible.
Thank you,
The Ugly Duck Team
