MYTO Episode 2 presents SOLARPUNK: Decolonisation
Myto is a multimodal organism reimagining learning through collaborative practice, spanning music, performance, contemporary art and club culture. For their second episode, Myto teams up with Ugly Duck to bring to life a two day exhibition surrounding the theme of Solarpunk.
Solarpunk is a genre of speculative fiction and an emerging social movement that envisions a hopeful future rooted in sustainability and equity. It stands in contrast to dystopian narratives, focusing on how human ingenuity and cooperation can address the ecological and social crises of our time.
Myto aims to bring together artists from different diasporas who explore decolonisation in their practice and to create a space of convergence for their work. Through this, they hope to ignite a conversation, between the participants and the audience, on our cultural resonance and how we can build collective spirituality. This two day takeover will activate this reclaimed disused factory as a space where we can envision alternative futures and take a step into making this into reality.
The exhibition will be held across two days at Ugly Duck on 22nd and 23rd March 2025. The exhibition will include performances, sculptures, installations, film screenings, workshops and a “circular” discussion on decolonisation, global convergence, decentralisation and Solarpunk.
